The story of the comic book is inspired by my personal experience as a child and exploration of the mindset and imagination of a kid to understand children as a target group.
Visualizing and illustrating Famous Marathi book 'Batatyachi Chawl' - P. L. Deshpande (Masters thesis project - MFA second year)
Batatyachi Chal is the title of a humorous book in Marathi which Purushottam Laxman Deshpande wrote. The episodes in the book revolve around imaginary lower middle-class families living in the 1940s in a fictitious tenement named "Batatyachi Chal" located in Girgaon area of mumbai.
I illustrate a few scenes and characters from the book.This was my final year illustration project , won best illustration project award in annual exhibition Feb 2010 and was also shortlisted as a nominee at CAG(communication arts guild) awards march 2010.
